Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.
Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

Keyless Systems - Component ID/Compatibility

Date: January 8, 2009

Order No.: P-B-80.35/52

Supersedes:

Group: 80

SUBJECT:
All Model 209 / 211 Vehicles, Equipped with Keyless Go (code 889)

Keyless Go Not Functioning After Replacement of Key or Keyless Go Module

In the above model vehicles, if after replacing a Keyless Go component the Keyless Go system does not function, it is possible that the component is not compatible with the system you are working on. Please refer to the component compatibility list shown above.

Note:
The components of the two systems (old / new) are not compatible with each other since the audio frequency of the key has been changed. If even one component of the system is from the wrong system, the Keyless Go will not function.

When ordering keys, be sure to specify replacement or duplicate (and key number) in the turnaround field. Be sure to comply with MBUSA Policy PAC003 (Theft-Relevant Parts Ordering Policy)!
