Location
The VICS antenna is located in the center at the top of the windshield.

Tasks
The VICS antenna receives the information of the Vehicle Information and Communication System (VICS) transmitted in the microwave range (2.5 GHz) from the VICS beacons (transmission antennas) installed along the road and transfers the signals received for dynamic destination-oriented navigation directly to the COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3). The latter decodes the signals and edits the information for the display.
