Activate ATA
^ Lock the central locking (CL) with the transmitter key (A8/1).
^ Lock the central locking (CL) with the relocking function
^ Automatic activation (only (B))

When the transmitter key (A8/1) is removed and the driver's door is opened and closed again, the anti-theft alarm (ATA) is activated automatically 94 s after the last door is closed regardless of the status of the vehicle central locking (CL).

Partial activation of ATA
The anti-towing function (TS) (AS) or the interior motion sensor (with code (882b) Interior monitoring (only with ATA)) can be switched off for the next activation of the anti-theft alarm (ATA).

Alarm inputs
The anti-theft alarm (ATA) evaluates the following alarm inputs:
^ Alarm signal horn with additional battery (H3/1)
^ Left door contact switch (S17/3)
^ Right door contact switch (S17/4)
^ ATA hood switch (S62)
^ Glove compartment switch, ATA (S62/7)
^ ATA [EDW] center console compartment switch (S62/8)
^ Trunk lid rotary tumbler microswitch (S88/1) If not switched off:
^ ATA inclination sensor (B33) with code (882b) Interior monitoring (only with ATA):
^ Interior motion sensor transmitter and receiver (A26/14)

The status of the alarm inputs is checked cyclically (every 0.5 s).If 20 consecutive polls each indicate that an input is idle, the corresponding input is then armed. Alarm inputs which later switch to idle state, are also armed after 10 s

towing sensor (AS)
The towing sensor (TS) is activated 10 s after activation of the ATA.If one or more doors or the trunk lid are open, the ATA inclination sensor (B33) is activated 10 s after the last door or the trunk lid is closed.

Interior motion sensor (IRS)
with code (882b) Interior monitoring (only with ATA))
The interior motion sensor is activated 30 s after activation of the ATA.

The status of the interior motion sensor transmitter/receiver (A26/14) is checked by the overhead control panel control module (N70). The alarm input is permitted only when the status check replies "Okay".

When the Vario roof is opened, the interior motion sensor is switched off (not Netherlands).

Feedback after successful activation
Visual:
The function LED in the "Lock" CL interior switch and ATA function indicator lamp (N72/1s17) comes on momentarily approx. once per second.

Acoustic (only Netherlands):
The alarm signal horn with additional battery (H3/1) outputs an acoustic feedback by buzzing three times
If one door is not properly closed during ATA [EDW] activation, no feedback will be given.
