Placing a call
The user has several ways of setting up the call:
^ The call is established on the portable CTEL (A34/6) after entering the required telephone number using the numeric keypad on the portable CTEL (A34/6) and then pressing the "Accept telephone call" button on the portable CTEL (A34/6).
^ The radio (A2) with code (523) MB Audio 20 radio is used to enter the telephone number using the integrated numeric keypads, and the call is established using the integrated "Accept telephone call" control button.
^ The radio and navigation unit (A2/56) with code (525) MB Audio 50 APS radio is used to enter the telephone number using the integrated numeric keypads, and the call is established using the integrated "Accept telephone call" control button.
^ The telephone number is entered on the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) with code (527) COMAND APS with single DVD drive (with navigation) or with code (530) COMAND APS USA (with navigation system) using the integrated numeric keypads and the telephone call is established via the integrated control button "Accept telephone call".
^ The integrated scroll forward/back button (S110s1) and the integrated system selection button (S110s3) on the multifunction steering wheel (MFL) can be used to select a stored telephone number in the telephone book, which appears in the upper multifunction display (A1p13) of the instrument cluster (A1). The call is established using the integrated accept/terminate phone call button (S111s3).

When entering the telephone number, it is possible for the user to simplify telephone number entry with the appropriate function buttons by calling up the desired telephone numbers directly from the memory stored for this purpose.
In this case, it is possible to call telephone numbers stored either on the SIM card or in the telephone memory.

If audio sources are activated on the audio device that is installed, they are muted at the beginning of a telephone call, regardless whether the call is incoming or outgoing.
While they are muted, the note "Phone" appears in the display of each of the listed and activated audio sources and in the upper multifunction display (A1p13) of the instrument cluster (A1).

With the Universal Portable CTEL Interface (UPCI) system, all calls are made with the portable CTEL (A34/6) via the hands free system.

Terminating a call
The user has several ways of terminating the call:
^ By pressing the "Terminate call" button on the portable CTEL (A34/6).
^ By pressing the accept/terminate phone call button (S111s3) on the MFL.
^ By pressing the "Terminate phone call" control button at the radio (A2) with code (523) MB Audio 20 radio
^ By pressing the "Terminate phone call" control button at the radio and navigation unit (A2/56) with code (525) MB Audio 50 APS radio
^ By pressing the "Terminate phone call" control button at the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) with code (527) COMAND APS with single DVD drive (with navigation) or with code (530) COMAND APS USA (with navigation system).
