Location
The Bluetooth module is located in the telephone compartment in the center console under the armrest.

Depending on the equipment installed one of the following control units will be installed, hereafter referred to as the "audio unit":
- Radio (A2), with code (523) MB Audio 20 radio or with code (510) Audio 20 with CD changer
- Radio and navigation unit (A2/56), with code (525) MB Audio 50 APS radio or with code (511) Audio 50 APS with DVD changer
- COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3), with code (527) COMAND APS with single DVD drive (with navigation) or with code (512) COMAND APS with DVD changer

Connecting different cradles
Various UPCI [UHI] cell phone holders (Universal Portable Cell Phone Interface) (A34/15) can be connected to the mobile phone system via the Bluetooth module.

Receiving signals
- Receiving the circuit 30g power supply from the interior fuse box (F34) and circuit 31 from the circuit 31 connector sleeve (Z6/56) via one direct line each
- Receiving the switch-on or off signal from the "audio unit" via a direct line
- Receiving the mobile phone signals or data via a coaxial cable and the left antenna amplifier module (A2/64) from the rod antenna (A28)
- Receiving the mobile phone signals or data from the mobile phone via the contact pins of the cradle
- Receiving the control signals from the mobile phone via the contact pins of the cradle
- Receiving the mobile phone signals or data from the Bluetooth antenna (A2/91)

Transmitting signals
- Transmitting the circuit 30g and circuit 31 power supply via the contact pins to the cradle
- Transmitting the switch-on or off signal via the contact pin to the cradle
- Transmitting the mobile phone signals or data via a coaxial cable and the left antenna amplifier module to the rod antenna
- Transmitting the mobile phone signals or data via the contact pins to the cradle
- Transmitting the mobile phone signals or data to the Bluetooth antenna
