1 Prepare the CAN (4) wiring harness.


Component Identification:






2 Expose VDA connector (33) in front passenger footwell (arrow).







Remove housing of VDA connector (33) and exchange with connector with the short coding tabs listed in the ordering instructions.







3 Connect the CAN (4) wiring harness to the ICANI box (2) with the ICANI connector (32), and then connect the handsfree connector (FSE) (7) to the free connection at the interface box for the handsfree system (3).
4 Connect VDA connector (33) to the hands-free system (3) interface box.







5 Connect the ground from the CAN wiring harness to ground (right footwell) (W15/1).







6 Route the voltage supply connector (30) under the instrument panel to the left and over to the fuse and relay box (F1), and then connect the fuse carrier to position 42. Insert a 7.5 A fuse in the fuse carrier.
7 Secure the connector line in place with adhesive felt.







8 Unplug the connector at the radio (A2), open up the connector housing and remove the white (ws) 12-pin connector.
9 Remove the yellow line from contact cavity 5 of this connector and strap it down so that it is now out of the way (no longer needed).







10 Remove the brown/red (br/rt) line of the white connector from cavity 1 and insert it into cavity 1 of the connector for the CAN connection to the radio (10).
11 Remove the brown (br) line from cavity 2 of the white connector and insert it in the remaining cavity 2 of the connector for the CAN connection to the radio (10).


Component Identification:






12 Open up the black connector (sw) from the CAN wiring harness (4) and insert the line from cavity 2 into cavity 1 of the white (ws) connector. Remove the yellow line (ge) from cavity 1 of the black (sw) connector and insert into cavity 5 of the white (ws) connector. Remove the line from cavity 4 of the black (sw) connector and insert into cavity 2 of the white (ws) connector.
13 Put the white (ws) connector back into the main radio connector and then reconnect the main connector to the radio.
