Map-supported map matching, function
The position of the vehicle is followed on the Digital Versatile Disk (DVD) map by the navigation processor of the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3). If the driver deviates from the calculated route, the basic position finding position coordinates (dead reckoning) are corrected if necessary.

Map-assisted position finding is only available in the digitized area of the DVD ROM map.By means of the comparison of the calculated position of the vehicle with the DVD-ROM map, the deviation can be recognized and corrected automatically.
