^ Media Oriented System Transport (MOST)

Direct line
The radio and navigation unit comes with the following direct connections:
- Circuit 30
- Circuit 31
- Wake-up for MOST (bidirectional)
- AUX input 1 (access in glove box), except code (518) Media interface
- GPS antenna (A2/23)
- Left antenna amplifier module (A2/64)
- Bluetooth antenna (A2/91)
- Hands-free system microphone group (B25), 3 microphones for the voice control system (VCS [SBS])

CAN
- The radio and navigation unit is a subscriber of the interior CAN

MOST
Control and audio signals from and to the following control units:
- Amplifier for sound system (N40/3), with code (810) Sound system
- Digital Audio Broadcasting control unit (N87/3), with code (537) Digital radio and code (833) Great Britain version
- Media interface control unit (N125/1), with code (518) Media interface

Evaluation of input factors
The input factors are processed in the radio and navigation unit.

Design
The radio and navigation unit consists of the following components:
- Control panels for controlling the audio, navigation and telematics functions
- DVD drive with integrated 6-disc DVD changer
- Central computer
- Navigation processor

Function
The following function areas are included in the radio and navigation unit:

Control panels and central computer
The buttons of the control panel on the radio and navigation unit are read in and the data made available for the central computer. Button actuations are further processed in the central computer and sent to additional system components as messages via the MOST or interior CAN. Pressing the "On" button on the radio and navigation unit switches on the radio and navigation unit. The volume for the respective set audio source is regulated by turning the rotary switch. The function keys switch over to the audio source desired by the user.

DVD changer
Data can be read from the navigation DVD or an audio CD/DVD can be played using the integrated DVD changer.

Navigation and GPS control unit
The navigation processor is integrated into the radio with auto pilot system and calculates the location of the vehicle from the incoming antenna signals and the vehicle's route after the destination has been entered.

Turn rate sensor
The turn rate sensor determines the direction changes of the vehicle. It is installed into the navigation processor. A calibration is not required.
