AN82.61-P-0001-06VB Retrofit MOST Fiber Optical Cable Wiring Harness

AN82.61-P-0001-06VB Retrofit MOST Fiber Optical Cable Wiring Harness

Danger of breaking: Do not kink optical waveguide, route over sharp edges or bend in radii smaller than 25 mm. Tensile forces on inserts must not exceed 65 N. Do not squeeze fiber optic cable and do not compress with clamps or cable ties.

1 Remove the MOST connectors (11) of both MOST wiring harnesses ordered.
2 Remove blue retaining clip (15) from the two MOST carrier elements (13) and (14).
3 Remove fiber optic cable modules (8) and (9) from the two MOST carrier elements (13) and (14).
4 Install first fiber optic cable module (8) into chamber 1, input (see arrow), from MOST carrier element (14).

Fiber optical cable module (8) must latch audibly.

5 Install the other end of the fiber optical cable module (8) in the MOST carrier element (13) chamber 2 (output).
6 Install second fiber optical cable module (9) in MOST carrier element (13) (chamber 1, input) and with the other end in the MOST carrier element (14) (chamber 2, output).

Ensure that each individual fiber optical cable module (8) and (9) is inserted one time into chamber 1 (input) and one time into chamber 2 (output).

7 Install blue retaining clips (15) in the MOST carrier element (13) and (14).
8 Mount one MOST connector (11).

Second MOST connector (11) is no longer required.

9 Wrap the optical fiber modules (8, 9) with felt tape (21) as per the dimensions.

Component Identification:

10 Remove the covering (30) for glove compartment illumination, separate plug (31) and strap down plug (31) with wiring harness (32) in the area of the A-pillar on vehicle's own wiring harnesses.

On vehicles with AUX-jack the AUX-jack must be removed from the covering (30) for glove compartment illumination and installed in the opening in the glove compartment.
On vehicles without AUX-jack the opening in the glove compartment is sealed with the blind plug (33). The covering (30) for the glove compartment illumination and plug (31) are no longer required.

11 Clip the MOST carrier element (13) into the outer, lower chamber of the black, 44-pin connector (2a) of the radio (A2).
12 Route fiber optical cable modules (8, 9) with MOST connector housing (11) from front passenger footwell through the cutout into the glove compartment.

Do not damage electrical line and MOST fiber optic cable.
The MOST connector (11) will later be connected to the CD player with changer (in glove compartment).

13 Guide the black, 44-pin connector (2a) together with the antenna plug (2b) from the footwell to the radio (A2).

Do not damage electrical line and MOST fiber optic cable.

14 Connect the black, 44-pin connector (2a) to the radio (A2) and lock.
15 Insert antenna plug (2b) in the radio (A2).
16 Once again check the black, 44-pin connector (2a) and the antenna plug (2b) for correct seating on the radio (A2).

17 Fasten the wrapped fiber optic cable modules (8, 9), as per the picture, under the instrument panel with felt tape (arrows) on the glove compartment.

Do not damage MOST fiber optical cable. Ensure that it cannot chafe.
