Component Identification:






When retrofitting the CD player with changer (in glove compartment) (A2/6), the removal of the radio (A2) or radio and navigation unit (A2/56) or COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) is not required. The connectors can be unplugged from the front passenger footwell side at the back of the devices.







Detach the connectors from the MB Audio 20 radio

1 Grasp the radio (A2) from the front passenger footwell behind the center console.
2 Push locking tab (1) upward and fold down retaining clip in direction of arrow.
3 Detach black, 44-pin connector (2a) on radio (A2)
4 Press catch lug (arrow, lower enlarged section) on antenna plug (2b) and detach antenna plug (2b).

Risk of breakage: Do not kink optical waveguide, route over sharp edges or bend in radii smaller than 25 mm. Tensile forces on inserts must not exceed 65 N.

5 Guide the black, 44-pin connector (2a) together with the antenna plug (2b) from the radio (A2) to the right footwell.







Detach connectors on the MB Audio 50 APS radio and on COMAND APS (with navigation), shown on MB Audio 50 APS radio

1 Reach behind center console from right footwell to grasp the radio and navigation unit (A2/56) or the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3).
2 Press catch lug (arrow, upper magnified section) and detach black, 6-pin connector (3a).

Operation step 3.1 only for MB Audio 50 APS radio

3.1 Press catch lug (arrow, lower magnified section) on side of the antenna plug (3b) and detach GPS antenna plug (3b) from the radio and navigation unit (A2/56).

Risk of breakage: Do not kink optical waveguide, route over sharp edges or bend in radii smaller than 25 mm. Tensile forces on inserts must not exceed 65 N.

4 Guide the black, 6-pin connector (3a) together with GPS antenna plug (3b) (only with MB Audio 50 APS radio) to the right footwell.
