GF82.60-P-2001SKW Radio Mode, Function

Radio reception, function
The FM/AM amplifier (A2/18) receives the frequency-modulated and the amplitude-modulated radio frequency signals, filters the frequencies of the radio frequency bands and amplifies them. Part of the frequency-modulated radio frequency signals is amplified by the left antenna amplifier module (A2/64). Subsequently, all amplified radio frequency signals are transmitted via a screened line to the radio receiver in the radio (A2).
The radio receiver demodulates the high frequency signals, in other words it separates the useful information (audible frequencies) from the carrier signal (inaudible). The demodulated audio signals are amplified and converted into sound signals by the vehicle speaker system.

Different ways of tuning in stations:
^ Tuning using station preset
^ Tuning by program type list
^ Tuning via frequency list
^ Tuning by station search
^ Tuning by station search on multifunction steering wheel (MFL)
^ Tuning by "Autostore" memory
^ Tuning by "Scan" search (the stations of a waveband are played for t = 8 s)
^ Manual tuning
^ Tuning by manual frequency input (via the 12-button control panel of the radio (A2))

Satellite digital audio radio (satellite radio) (SDAR) (with code (536) SIRIUS satellite radio)
The SDAR control unit (N87/5) decodes the S-band satellite signals received by the SDAR antenna (A2/82) and then forwards them to the radio (A2) via the Media Oriented System Transport (MOST). The satellite radio function can be called up in the audio menu.
It is possible to receive digital satellite stations. The prerequisite is that this has been enabled by a network provider. If the system is enabled, between 100 and 224 additional stations can be received.

The "Satellite radio" function is planned as factory-installed special equipment in the vehicle. Thus, not only the complete wiring is installed in the vehicle, but also the SDAR antenna (A2/82) and the SDAR control unit (N87/5).

Since modification year 07/1 the SDAR control unit (N87/5) (3rd generation) has been used, which is now also available for vehicles with code (460) Additional parts, Canadian vehicles. The SDAR control unit (N87/5) (3rd generation) differs from previous generations through the following features:
^ Shorter response times
^ Improved reception properties
^ Temperature and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) properties have been optimized
