GF82.60-P-2002SKA CD-Player Mode, Function
- with CODE (527) COMAND APS with single DVD drive (with navigation)

CD player mode is initiated at the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) in the "Audio" menu. Using the function keys (hard keys) the audio source desired by the user can be selected here. The audio CDs can be played via the multi standard disk drive or via the CD player with changer (in glove compartment) (A2/6) (with code (819) 6-disk CD changer). The CD player with changer (in glove compartment) (A2/6) has an automatic input slot for 6 CDs. The CDs are loaded centrally via an insertion slot. Each CD can be loaded and removed individually with the selection buttons on the unit. The system is operated via the keypad on the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3).

Only 12-cm CDs can be inserted into the CD player with changer (in glove compartment) (A2/6).

The control signals of the control unit as well as the audio data of the CD player with changer (in glove compartment) (A2/6) are transmitted via the media-oriented system transport (MOST). The audio gateway control unit (N93/1) takes over signal processing and signal amplification

On vehicles with code (810) Sound system, the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) has to be coded accordingly with the aid of STAR DIAGNOSIS, otherwise faults can occur when playing back the audio signals.

The CD player mode is activated on the control unit in the menu "Audio/CD". When an Audio CD is inserted into the input slot of the CD player with changer (in glove compartment) (A2/6) the following functions are available for the user:
^ Selecting the CD slot in the changer (starting with 2 CDs)
^ Loading CD
^ CD selection (starting with 2 CDs)
^ Select track
^ Music search, forwards or backwards
^ Current play time (of track or CD)
^ Scan functions
The music tracks are played for 8 seconds. At the end of the CD the CD player with changer (in glove compartment) (A2/6) automatically changes to the mode last set.
^ Random function
All the tracks of a CD are played according to the random principle. Once all the tracks of a CD have been played once, the next CD is automatically loaded and the random function continues. The random function is repeated until it is deactivated.
^ Repeat function
Alternatively one track, all tracks on a CD or all CDs in the CD player with changer (in glove compartment) (A2/6) are repeated.

The following possibilities are available in the menu "Adjustments":
^ Normal track function
^ Repeat track
^ Repeat CD
^ Select track mix

CD title allocation, function
Each CD contains a permanently stored table of contents (TOC entry). Thus, the operating unit recognizes the particular CD and can automatically name it after the one-time user allocation of the title. The table of contents (TOC record) also contains information on the number of titles on a CD and the total CD playing time.
