- with CODE (523) MB Audio 20 radio

CD player mode
CDs can be played using the CD player with changer (in glove compartment) (A2/6). The CD player with changer (in glove compartment) (A2/6) has an automatic input slot for 6 CDs. The CDs are loaded centrally via an insertion slot. Each CD can be loaded and removed individually with the 6 selection buttons on the unit. The system is operated via the entry keyboard at the radio (A2).

Only 12-cm CDs can be inserted into the CD player with changer (in glove compartment) (A2/6).

The control signals of the control as well as the audio data of the CD player with changer (in the glove compartment) (A2/6) are transmitted via the Media Oriented System Transport (MOST). The signals are processed and amplified by the radio (A2).

The CD player operation is selected using the operating unit in the audio/CD menu. When a CD is inserted into the slot of the CD player with changer (in glove compartment) (A2/6), the following functions are available to the user:
^ Selection of the CD slot in the changer
^ Loading CD
^ CD selection
^ Select track
^ Search forward/backward
^ Current play time (of track or CD)
^ Scan functions
The music tracks are played for 8 seconds. At the end of the CD the CD player with changer (in glove compartment) (A2/6) automatically changes to the mode last set.
^ Random function
All the tracks of a CD are played according to the random principle. Once all the tracks of a CD have been played once, the next CD is automatically loaded and the random function continues. The random function is repeated until it is deactivated.
^ Repeat function
Alternatively one track, one CD or all CDs in the CD player with changer (in glove compartment) (A2/6) are repeated.

The following possibilities are available in the menu "Adjustments":
^ Normal track function
^ Repeat track
^ Repeat CD
^ Select a track sequence

CD title allocation, function
Each CD contains a permanently stored table of contents (TOC entry). Thus, the radio (A2) recognizes the particular CD and can automatically name it after the one-time user allocation of the title. The table of contents (TOC record) also contains information on the number of titles on a CD and the total CD playing time.

Playback of an audio CD in MP3 format
The designation "MP3" is an acronym for MPEG 1 Audio Layer 3 and describes an audio compression standard, which permits the compression of digital music signals to approx. 8 % of the original data size. This is done with almost no audible difference to the original signal (CD). It is also possible to play back CD in MP3 format in addition to conventional CDs in the CD player with changer (in glove compartment) (A2/6). While doing so, a conventional CD is emulated (simulated).
