GF82.60-P-2002SKW CD-Player Mode, Function

Audio CDs can be played in the radio system (A2) or in the CD player with changer (in glove compartment) (A2/6). The CD player with changer (in glove compartment) (A2/6) has an automatic input slot for 6 CDs. The CDs are loaded centrally via an insertion slot. Each CD can be loaded and removed individually with the 6 selection buttons on the unit. The system is operated via the entry keyboard at the radio (A2).

Only 12-cm CDs can be inserted into the CD player with changer (in glove compartment) (A2/6).

The control signals from the radio (A2) as well as the audio data from the CD player with changer (in the glove compartment) (A2/6) are transmitted via the Media Oriented System Transport (MOST). The signals are processed and amplified by the radio (A2). The CD player with changer (in glove compartment) (A2/6) is activated in the "Audio/CD" menu of the radio (A2).

When an Audio CD is inserted into the input slot of the CD player with changer (in glove compartment) (A2/6) the following function are available for the user:
^ Selection of audio CD
^ Select track
^ "Search forwards" and "Search backwards"
^ Current playback time of track or audio CD
^ Programming function

The following functions are possible:
^ SCAN function
The music tracks are played for 8 seconds. At the end of the CD, the CD player with changer (in glove compartment) (A2/6) automatically switches to the mode last set.
^ Random function
All the tracks of an audio CD are played according to the random principle. Once all the tracks have been played once, the next audio CD is automatically loaded and the random function continues. The random function continues until it is deactivated.
^ Repeat function
Alternatively one track, all tracks on a CD or all CDs in the CD player with changer (in glove compartment) (A2/6) are repeated.

The following possibilities are available in the menu "Adjustments":
^ Normal track function
^ Repeat track
^ Repeat audio CD

Allocate a CD title to an audio CD
Each audio CD contains a fixed list of contents. Thereby, it is possible to automatically recognize this CD title after the one-time user allocation of the title, even if the audio CD is inserted into another magazine.
The table of contents also contains information on the number of titles on an audio CD and the total audio CD playing time.

Playback of an audio CD in MP3 format
The designation "MP3" is an acronym for MPEG 1 Audio Layer 3 and describes an audio compression standard, which permits the compression of digital music signals to approx. 8 % of the original data size. This is done with almost no audible difference to the original signal (audio CD). It is also possible to play back audio CD in MP3 format in addition to conventional audio CDs in the CD player with changer (in glove compartment) (A2/6). While doing so, a conventional audio CD is emulated (simulated).
