GF82.60-P-2003SKU Volume/Tone Adjustments, Function
- with CODE (530) COMAND APS USA (with navigation system)

In connection with the COMAND, operating, display and control unit (A40/3) a distinction must be made between audio sources and service sources:
Audio sources are:
^ Radio tuner
^ CD player with changer (in glove compartment) (A2/6)

Service sources are for example:
^ Telephone
^ Voice output with navigation system
^ Traffic announcements

Volume setting
Changing the volume of an audio source has an identical effect on all other audio sources. The volume of all service sources is also jointly regulated in the same manner

The volume of voice output for navigation can be changed during voice output. An adjustable distance (in the "Settings" menu) between the volume of the audio signal and voice output is automatically adhered to.
This means that voice output remains audible even in the case of loud audio output.

Tone setting
Manual tone settings (treble, bass) can be made for each audio source on the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3).

The following tone optimizations can be called up with code (810) Sound System:
^ Standard
^ Low ambience
^ Medium ambience
^ High ambience
^ Language
^ Driver optimized

With a change in sound emphasis (balance, fader) the relative ratio of the volume of the individual speakers changes. The signal processing required for the volume and tone settings is undertaken by the audio components integrated in the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3). The audio gateway control unit (N93/1) takes care of final amplification of the audio signals.
