GF82.60-P-3115-04SKV Radio Control Panel, Function

GF82.60-P-3115-04SKV Radio Control Panel, Function

The buttons and switches on the control panel of the radio (A2) are read in by the microcontroller and supplied to the central computer. The actuations of the buttons and switches are processed in the central computer and transmitted over the Media Oriented System Transport (MOST) or the Controller Area Network Bus Class B (interior) (CAN-B) in the form of a data telegram. If the "ON" button on the rotary pushbutton is pressed, the radio (A2) switches on. In each case the volume can be regulated with the pushbutton rotary switch for the audio source active. With the aid of the buttons and switches of the function keypad on the control panel, it is possible to switch over to the audio source selected by the user.

If the user presses the "tone setting" function key, the following presets can be changed:
^ Base
^ Treble
^ Balance
^ Fader
^ Volume
^ Traffic messages
^ Acoustics

Using the "Mute" function button, the audio source currently being listened to is muted. The output signal from the radio (A2) is suppressed, and the CD disk drive goes into pause mode. If the user presses the right side of the cross-shaped rocker button, a telephone call is received. If the user presses the left side of the cross-shaped rocker button, a telephone call is ended.

The number block of the radio's (A2) control panel can be used to make the following requests:
^ Entering required telephone number
^ Calling up or saving a radio station
^ Direct entry of a radio frequency
^ Selection of a CD
^ Direct entry of a CD track

The cross-shaped rocker button can be used, for example, for searching in the telephone book or to carry out permanently programmed commands for the respective function level. If the user presses one of the two "Search" function keys, this function is carried out in the current function level.

CD drive
The radio (A2) is equipped with a CD disk drive. All sound and volume adjustments are made using the combination push and rotary button.

In addition to the user information (arrival of an SMS message) and the function status (telephone active), the following function groups are shown on the display of the radio (A2):
^ Autostore Automatic station search
^ Traffic information (regional)
^ Select and play back track randomly (Random)
^ Repeat track

AUX jack
In the glove compartment there is an AUX jack that can be used as a connection facility for additional audio sources, e.g. an MP3 player.

Brightness setting
To be able to see the information in the display of the radio (A2) better, its brightness can be continuously adjusted using the cross shaped rocker button.

Read out errors with the aid of STAR DIAGNOSIS
The radio (A2) has its own diagnostic trouble code memory. When the fault memory is called up by means of STAR DIAGNOSIS, the data are transmitted to the radio (A2) via the MOST and can then be read out. The central gateway control unit (N93) carries out the diagnosis via the CAN-B to the radio (A2).

An error output over the radio (A2) is not possible.
