The radio is located in the center console.

Task
The radio has the following tasks:

The radio provides the user with a structured and uniform interface.

Reads in the controls and input signals
The input factors are read in via the following connections:
^ Direct line
^ Controller Area Network (data bus/CAN bus) (CAN)

Direct line
The radio is equipped with the following direct inputs:
- Circuit 30
- Circuit 31
- Telephone MUTE
- Left antenna amplifier module (A2/64)
- Bluetooth antenna (A2/91)
- Hands-free system microphone group (B25)
- AUX input (access in glove compartment)

CAN
The radio is an interior CAN subscriber. It communicates with the following components, for example:
- Instrument cluster (A1)
- EIS [EZS] control unit (N73)
- Steering column tube module (N80)

Evaluation of input factors
The input values are processed in the radio.

Actuates output media
The following direct output signals are possible:
- Audio out to the following speakers:
- Left door speaker group (H4/1)
- Right door speaker group (H4/2)
- Left rear speaker (H4/7)
- Right rear speaker (H4/8)
- Left door tweeter (H4/33)
- Right door tweeter (H4/34)
- Center cockpit speaker (centerfill) (H4/27)
- Switch on and switch off signals for Bluetooth module (A34/7), with code (386) Mobile phone
- Provision of structured and uniform interface for the following system components:
- Audio system (e.g. radio, CD (also MP3), AUX)
- Communication system (e.g. telephone with telephone book function)
- Tone settings (e.g. bass, treble, fader, balance)
- System settings (e.g. brightness and contrast of the display)
- Evaluation of signals from interior CAN

The radio generates a structured and uniform interface which is shown on the radio display.

Component Identification:






Function
The buttons for the control panel on the radio are read in and made available to the integrated central computer. Button actuation is processed further in the central computer. A radio can be switched On and Off with the On/Off button. The volume is regulated by turning the volume setting button for each set audio source. Pressing the function keys enables the user to switch to the desired system components.

Single slot CD drive
The integrated single slot CD drive can be used to play audio CDs (including MP3 format).
