Function
The signals of the "Unlock" CL interior switch (N72/1s16) and the "Lock" CL interior switch and ATA function indicator lamp (N72/1s17) are transmitted by the upper control panel control module (N72/1) to the controller area network bus class B (interior compartment) (CAN B).
The EIS control unit (N73) reads in these signals and controls the locking or unlocking operation of the central locking (CL) depending on the:
^ status of the central locking (CL)
^ door status (signal of left door contact switch (S17/3) and right door contact switch (S17/4) from rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2) via CAN B)

The following situations are possible:
- The "Unlock" CL interior switch (N72/1s16) and the "Lock" CL interior switch and ATA function indicator lamp (N72/1s17) are disabled on vehicles locked from outside with the transmitter key (A8/1)Enabling is performed when the transmitter key (A8/1) is inserted into the EIS control unit (N73) or when the vehicle is unlocked with the transmitter key (A8/1).
- If the driver's door is open during locking, the driver's door is not locked An open passenger door is locked

When locked with the "Lock" CL interior switch and ATA function indicator lamp (N72/1s17) the fuel filler flap, the glove compartment and the center console compartment remains always unlocked.
