Function requirements
^ Circuit 61 ON (engine running)
^ Circuit 15R or 15 ON
^ Power window not operated

Function
The mirror heater (M21/1r1 and M21/2r1) consists of one heat resistor each located on the foil on the rear of the mirror glass. The power supply and the regulated switch-on and switch-off is accomplished by the left door control module (N69/1) and right door control module (N69/2).

Manually switching on mirror heater
When the heated rear window switch (N18s1, N22s1 or N22/7s1) is actuated, the heated rear window as well as the mirror heater (M21/1r1 and M21/2r1) are switched on dependent on the outdoor temperature

Automatically switching on mirror heater
The mirror heater (M21/1r1 and M21/2r1) is automatically switched depending on the outdoor temperature measured by the outdoor temperature indicator temperature sensor (B14).

In addition, on vehicles with dew point sensor (B11/12) or with AAC multi-function sensor (B31) the mirror heater (M21/1r1 and M21/2r1) is operated depending on the dew point.
