Repair painting
Corrosion protection measures in the plants are selected according to economic and ecological points of view as well as internal aspects. Of particular importance is the process coordination of materials and system technologies in order to achieve the very best reproduceable quality.

A system technology equivalent to series production is not feasible for repair painting in the more than 6000 service support points worldwide.

Also various materials can no longer be used in the case of repair process due to their properties being matched to the production sequence.

In order to maintain the value and high quality standard of Mercedes- Benz vehicles, special paint materials and processing methods (market-specific national packages) have been developed together with leading paint manufacturers.

The most common current methods of work are continuously analyzed for their economic efficiency, and where appropriate, redesigned with the latest materials.

Due to the national packages as they are known, a range of repair paints sufficient for Mercedes-Benz is made available and is continuously being developed.

All materials and processing guidelines for MB vehicles which are required for repair painting can be obtained directly from the paint manufacturers or their national representatives.

In order to ensure uniform development with the companies, a basic range of materials and services, such as daily delivery, care, literature, technical training etc. have been established between Mercedes-Benz and the paint suppliers.

For an optimum product range, meeting country-specific requirements and local conditions, a basic contact is required between the respective MB national agency and one or more approved paint suppliers.

All the basic information and corresponding material approvals for setting up an MB national package can be obtained from:

DaimlerChrysler AG
Stuttgart, VSE/NV, T403
or
Sindelfingen, VSE/PA, B108
