AS77.50-Z-0001-01A Risk Of Injury Caused By Body Parts Being Trapped Crushed Or When Working On Partially Open Vario Roof (stop Mode) Or In Its Closing Area As A Result Of The Vario Roof Suddenly Collapsing

DANGER: Secure Vario roof with a suitable special tool.

Definition of 'stop mode'
The term 'stop mode' is used to define the mode when the opening or closing sequence of the Vario roof is interrupted by releasing the switch.

When the ignition is on, stop mode holds the partially open Vario roof in this position for approx 7 minutes before the system is depressurized and the Vario roof collapses back down either forwards or backwards, depending on its position. If the ignition is turned off, the Vario roof collapses back down after approx 7 seconds (Model 170, model 230) or approx 15 seconds (Model 171.4).

Risk of injury caused by trapped or crushed fingers when work is carried out on the partially open Vario roof (stop mode) or within its closing radius unless the roof has been secured beforehand using a suitable special tool.

Safety precautions/instructions
- Before working on the Vario roof or within its closing area, the Vario roof must be secured using the appropriate special tool.
