AR91.10-P-3436-01V Route And Fasten Electrical Seat Adjustment Wiring Harness

Ensure unobstructed movement of wiring harnesses, as otherwise the wiring harnesses may be damaged when the seat is adjusted.

If the left front seat's seat cushion frame without drive shaft protection is replaced with a seat cushion frame with drive shaft protection on vehicles up to vehicle identification end no. 191914, the routing of the seat fore/aft adjustment motor wiring harness and the backrest angle adjustment motor wiring harness have to be modified to comply with the status as of vehicle identification end no. 191915.

If a seat cushion frame with drive shaft protection is repeatedly replaced on vehicles up to vehicle identification end no. 191914, then the routing of the seat fore/aft adjustment motor wiring harness and the backrest angle adjustment motor wiring harness is to be checked to see if it complies with the status as of vehicle identification end no. 191915.

1. Disconnect electrical connector (1) from the driver-side front seat adjustment control unit with memory (N32/1) and guide out of the control unit holder (5).
2. Disconnect cable tie (3) from left front seat fore/aft adjustment motor (M27/1) and remove from control unit holder (5).

Note routing of cable tie (3).

3. Disconnect electrical connector (4) from left front seat fore/aft adjustment motor (M27/1).
4. Disconnect cable tie (7) and remove backrest angle adjustment motor electrical wiring harness (6).

Depending on the vehicle equipment, it is necessary to reattach the cable tie (7) to fasten other wiring harnesses.

5. Unclip backrest angle adjustment motor electrical wiring harness (6) from wiring harness bracket (8) (arrow A).
6. Unclip seat fore/aft adjustment motor electrical wiring harness (2) from wiring harness bracket (9) (arrow B).
7. Route seat fore/aft adjustment motor electrical wiring harness (2) and cable set branch-off line with electrical connector (4) between the left front seat fore/aft adjustment motor (M27/1) and the seat cushion.

8. Connect electrical connector (1) to driver-side front seat adjustment control unit with memory (N32/1).
9. Route cable set branch-off line with electrical connector (4) through the control unit holder and connect to left front seat fore/aft adjustment motor (M27/1).
10. Route cable tie (3) through control unit holder and fasten cable set branch-off line of electrical connector (4) using cable tie (3) to left front seat fore/aft adjustment motor (M27/1).

Turn the lock of the cable tie (3) to the horizontal position in the direction of travel.

11. Clip backrest angle adjustment motor electrical wiring harness (6) into wiring harness bracket (9) (arrow C).
12. Route seat fore/aft adjustment motor electrical wiring harness (2) as shown and fasten using cable tie (10) to spring system of seat cushion frame (11).







13. Glue on a felt strip (12) between the seat fore/aft adjustment motor electrical wiring harness (2) and the control unit holder (5) as protection against chafe marks.
