General information on assessment of brake testing on passenger car test stands

The brake system assessment is based on the values determined on the roller brake test stand.

Brake test scopes on test stands for passenger cars
^ Were the minimum brake values for the service and parking brakes reached?
^ Are the brake values for the service brake within the maximum deviation from right to left?
^ Are the brake values for the parking brake (mechanical or electromechanical) within the maximum deviation from right to left?
^ Is the actuating travel for the service and parking brake (mechanical) within the maximum specification?
^ Is the control force for the service and parking brake (mechanical) within the maximum specification?

Evaluation of brake tests on passenger car test stands

In accordance with the country-specific legislation and Mercedes-Benz specifications, the specified minimum requirements and tolerance limits for the brake system must be fulfilled on a vehicle- specific basis.

If the specified minimum requirements and tolerance limits for the brake system scopes to be tested are not complied with, this must be rejected and rectified subject to separate repair order, after a conducted diagnosis and the corresponding findings.

For the Federal Republic of Germany 29 StVZO (German vehicle licensing regulations) (or the 96/96/EG, 09/2010/EG Directive is valid with regard to the legal minimum requirement for the brake system.
