Fluctuating Engine Temperature

Note:
For Information Only!

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicle of high/low or fluctuating engine temperature, please be reminded of the following.

The M272 engine is equipped with an engine coolant temperature management system that is controlled by the three disc thermostat via the engine control unit. The system is designed to regulate the engine coolant temperature between 80°C and 100°C in order to keep the engine at optimum temperature for efficiency and emissions under different operating conditions.

Fluctuation of the coolant temperature display in the instrument cluster and/or engine temperature dropping temporarily to below 80°C during normal engine operation conditions are within normal operating parameters.
