GF83.25-P-0001SK Automatic Heater (Heat) Function

GF83.25-P-0001SK Automatic heater (HEAT) function
- except CODE (580) Automatic air conditioning
- except CODE (581) Comfort automatic air conditioning

Overall description
The automatic heater has a controlled heating and ventilation system. It controls the interior temperature and the air distribution for the driver and the front passenger. The system has the following sub-functions:

^ Heating circuit
The coolant is heated up by the engine. The heated coolant is subsequently guided through the heat exchanger, where the heat is emitted into the air in the interior. The coolant returns back to the coolant pump via the heater return.

^ Ventilation
The ventilation system ventilates the interior of the vehicle. The air is sucked in by the blower motor (A32m1) and led to the air distribution flaps via various air ducts, from where it is distributed throughout the vehicle interior.

^ Control
The electronic control of the automatic heater takes place using various control units and temperature sensors that are interconnected via the class B Controller Area Network bus (interior) (CAN-B).
The desired vehicle interior temperature can only be achieved or maintained by heating the air. The temperature can only be cooled down to the temperature of the outside air.

^ Residual engine heat utilization
The residual engine heat utilization allows the vehicle to be heated for up to 30 minutes, even with circuit 15 off or circuit 15C. To do so the system utilizes the residual heat from the engine and leads it into the passenger compartment via the blower motor (A32m1).
