GF54.30-P-3022SK Displaying Distance, Function

Component Identification:

Calculation of mileage
To calculate the travel distance and speed the computer of the instrument cluster (A1) evaluates the wheel speeds from the following sensors:
^ Rpm sensor, left front (L6/1)
^ Rpm sensor, right front (L6/2)
^ Left rear rpm sensor (L6/3)
^ Right rear Rpm sensor (L6/4)

The instrument cluster (A1) receives the wheel speeds in rpm from the ESP and BAS control unit (N47-5) via the Controller Area Network bus class C (CAN-C).

As the tire circumference differs only very slightly among all the approved tires, no coding of the tire circumference is necessary.

Displaying the total mileage
^ The 6-digit display follows in the basic picture of the upper multifunction display (A1p13) in kilometers or miles as soon as the instrument cluster (A1) has been activated.
^ The display range for the main odometer is 0 to 999.999 km or miles. If the maximum reading is reached, the counter is not reset to 0 km or miles. It is then necessary to replace the instrument cluster (A1).

The current reading of the main odometer is also placed by the instrument cluster (A1) on the Controller Area Network bus class B (CAN-B) and CAN-C.

Kilometers/miles changeover
The display of travel distances can be changed over from kilometers to miles and vice versa via the "adjustments" menu.

Displaying the trip mileage
The 5-digit display follows in the basis picture of the upper multifunction display (A1p13) in kilometers or miles when the instrument cluster (A1) is activated.
The display range for the trip odometer is 0 to 9999.9 km or miles. Once the maximum reading is reached the display is reset to 0 km or miles.

Resetting the trip odometer
The trip odometer is reset by operating the trip odometer reset button (A1s3) to 0 km or 0 miles, when the instrument cluster (A1) is activated and the basic picture (total mileage and trip odometer) is shown in the upper multifunction display (A1p13).

Storage of data
The total distance remains stored for at least 5 a when the battery is disconnected (G1).
The trip odometer is also protected against data loss when the battery is disconnected (G1).

Advancing the total mileage
It is not possible to advance the total mileage. In the case of a replacement part the required kilometer or mileage reading must be adjusted by the supplier.

Resetting the total mileage
Up to a total mileage of 250 km or 155 miles the electronic speedometer (A1p8) can be reset to 0 km or miles using STAR DIAGNOSIS. However, this can only be done once.
