7 Daytime running lights wiring harness
N10/1 Front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module
W16/3 Ground (left assembly compartment, power ground)






1 Turn front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) so that the black 28-pin coupling (10) is easily accessible.
2 Connect black, 2-pin coupling (8) of black line (sw) into slot 14 on front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1).
3 Connect gray/black line (gr/sw) of daytime running lights wiring harness (7) with a potential distributor (9) to the gray/black line (gr/sw) in slot 2 of the black 28-pin coupling (10).
Position potential distributor (9) approx. 150 mm behind the black 28-pin coupling (10).






4 Align front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) with attachment points in fuse box (11).
5 Remove grommet (12) from fuse box (11).
The removed grommet (12) is no longer required.

6 Insert grommet (13) with daytime running lights wiring harness (7) into fuse box (11).






7 Route daytime running lights wiring harness (7), as shown, to the left major assembly compartment ground, power ground (W16/3) and fasten in place using cable ties (15).
Route daytime running lights wiring harness (7), and fasten in place with cable ties (15), so that it does not chafe against the A/C line (14) on vehicles with code (580) Automatic air conditioning or code (581) Comfort automatic air conditioning.

8 Connect brown line (br) of daytime running lights wiring harness (7) to left major assembly compartment ground, power ground (W16/3).






9 Route daytime running lights wiring harness (7), as shown, along the vehicle wiring harness (18) to the left front lamp unit (E1).
10 Remove cable tie (16) of vehicle wiring harness (18).
11 Fasten daytime running lights wiring harness (7) and vehicle wiring harness (18) using new cable ties (16) to holders of old cable ties (16).
12 Also fasten daytime running lights wiring harness (7), as shown, using a cable tie (17) to the vehicle wiring harness (18).






13 Route daytime running lights wiring harness (7), as shown, to the installation locations (arrows A and B) for the daytime running lights headlamps.
Route the longer of the two branchoff lines to the right side of the vehicle.
14 Fasten branch-off line for left daytime running lights headlamp using cable ties to wiring harness of left front lamp unit (E1).
15 Fasten daytime running lights wiring harness (7) using cable ties (17) to vehicle wiring harness (20).

16 Fasten daytime running lights wiring harness (7) using cable ties (19) to the body.
17 Fasten branch-off line for right daytime running lights headlamp using cable ties to wiring harness of right front lamp unit (E2).






18 Route daytime running lights wiring harness (7), as shown, along the vehicle wiring harnesses and fasten in place using cable ties (17).
