The exterior lights comprises the following components:
^ Left front lamp unit (E1)
^ Right front lamp unit (E2)
^ Left fog lamp (E5/1)
^ Right fog lamp (E5/2)
^ Left taillamp (E3)
^ Right taillamp (E4)
^ Left license plate lamp (E19/1)
^ Right license plate lamp (E19/2)
^ center high-mounted stop lamp (E21)

These are not directly actuated from your controls.

The lighting devices are actuated by the following control units, which receive and evaluate the switch positions of the controls via the Controller Area Network Bus class B (interior) (CAN-B):
^ Driver-side SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1)
^ Rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2)
^ Left door control module (N69/1)
^ Right door control module (N69/2)

The driver-side SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) controls the following lamps:
^ Left high beam (E1e1)
^ Left standing and parking lamp (E1e3)
^ Left turn signal lamp (E1e5)
^ Left high beam solenoid (E1l1)
^ Right high beam (E2e1)
^ Right standing and parking lamp (E2e3)
^ Right turn signal lamp (E2e5)
^ Right high beam solenoid (E2l1)
^ Left fog lamp (E5/1)
^ Right fog lamp (E5/2)

The rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) controls the following lamps:
^ Left turn signal lamp (E3e1)
^ Left backup lamp (E3e3)
^ Left rear fog lamp (E3e5) (country-specific)
^ Left stop lamp, taillamp and parking lamp (E3e9)
^ Right turn signal lamp (E4e1)
^ Right backup lamp (E4e3)
^ Right rear fog lamp (E4e5) (country-specific)
^ Right stop lamp, taillamp and parking lamp (E4e9)
^ center high-mounted stop lamp (E21)

The left door control unit (N69/1) actuates the left outside mirror turn signal lamp (E6/5).
The right door control unit (N69/2) actuates the right outside mirror turn signal lamp (E6/6).
