GF82.20-P-0002SK Interior Lighting (IL [IBL]), Function

The overhead control panel control unit (N70) is the master for all the interior lights, except the illumination of the glove compartment, arm rest, rear wall housing and the trunk.

The interior lighting system primarily consists of the following functions:
^ Function illumination
^ Entrance/exit illumination
^ Switch illumination
^ Ambience illumination; with code (876) interior lighting package

The function illumination consists of the following components:
^ Left interior lamp (N70e4) and right interior lamp (N70e5)
^ Left reading lamp (A67e1) and right reading lamp (A67e2); with code (876) interior lighting package
^ Left reading lamp (N70e2) and right reading lamp (N70e3); except code (876) interior lighting package
^ Illumination, left front vanity mirror (E14/6) and illumination, right front vanity mirror (E14/7)
^ Glove compartment illumination with switch (E13/2)
^ Left luggage compartment lamp (E18/5)
^ Illumination, stowage box in armrest (E36); with code (876) interior lighting package
^ Illumination, stowage box between seat backrests (E13/3); with code (876) interior lighting package

The entrance/exit illumination consists of the following components:
^ Entrance and exit lamp in left door (E17/3)
^ Right door entrance/exit lamp (E17/4)

The switch and controls illumination consists of the following components:
^ Right front footwell lamp (E17/15); with code (876) interior lighting package
^ Left front footwell lamp (E17/16); with code (876) interior lighting package

Ambiance lighting
The ambient lamp (A67e3) for the ambience illumination is actuated from circuit 58d and is located in the inside rearview mirror unit (A67). The ambience illumination is intended to help prevent fatigue and create a more pleasant interior environment.
