Functions in the case of ignition ON:
- The gasoline, injection and ignition system (in the ME-SFI [ME] control unit) is supplied with a voltage.
- To protect against cylinder flooding, the fuel pump is actuated for approx. 5 seconds (only for first "Ignition ON")
- The engine diagnosis indicator lamp or CHECK ENGINE lights up in the instrument cluster (lamp check).
- Data exchange with the EIS [EZS] control unit (terminal 50 signal and drive authorization system) takes place via the CAN data bus.
- The fault memory can be read out and erased via the data link connector.
- Correction programming or diagnosis can be undertaken using STAR DIAGNOSIS via the data link connector.
- The throttle valve actuator checks its return spring (via the position of the throttle valve) may lead to a positioner adaptation.
- The tumble flap switchover is actuated and a check is performed to ensure that the end positions have been reached.
