DANGER:
- Risk of injury. Injuries may result when performing testing or repair work on airbag or emergency tensioning retractor units.
- Store airbag unit with expulsion area on top, do not subject to temperatures above 100 degrees C. When working on these units, disconnect the power supply.
- Store airbag unit with expulsion area on top, do not subject to temperatures above 100 degrees C. When working on these units, disconnect power supply and unplug the SRS test connector (X11/13).

CAUTION: Evaluation of airbags and emergency tensioning retractors on accident vehicles


NOTE:
- List of cables, plugs and couplings, that must not be repaired
- Plugs and couplings with yellow, orange or red housing colors are reserved for supplemental restraint systems (SRS), roll bars. Observe repair guidelines

1 Remove detachable body components in repair area

DANGER:
- Risk of injury to skin and eyes from handling hot or glowing objects.
- Wear safety gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary.
- Risk of injury. This work may result in burns to skin and eyes. Risk of poisoning. Inhaling fumes when working with heat-shrinkable tubing may cause poisoning.
- Work in well ventilated rooms only. Wear safety glasses with side protection and protective gloves.


2 Repair wiring harness using solder connectors

See "Special Tools" given below.

3 Protect repair area after cable repairs
- Using heat-shrinkable tube.
- Using corrugated hose.
- Using fabric tape.

4 Check wiring harness
- Function check on completion of repair
