The spare wheel with folding tire is a space-saving alternative to the conventional spare wheel. It allows the customer to reach the nearest Mercedes-Benz Service Station after suffering a flat tire.
^ After using the spare wheel, simply deflate the folding tire. The tire folds up completely and can be reused by the customer.
^ The maximum speed with the spare wheel with folding tire installed on the vehicle is 80 km/h (50 mph).
^ The tread depth of a new folding tire is 3 mm. The service limit is reached at 1.6 mm.
^ On vehicles with 16" tires, use the wheel bolts included with the spare wheel with folding tire. Store the bolts with the spare wheel after use.
^ A defective spare wheel with folding tire cannot be repaired. The spare wheel with folding tire is to be disposed of in the same way as a standard light-alloy wheel or tire.
