AH40.10-P-0006-01T Notes on measuring tire tread depth

Component Identification:

The brake pad check gauge (1) is suitable for measuring:
^ Tire tread depth
^ Brake lining thickness of outer brake pads (not all models)

The printed-on symbols and arrows identify that side of the brake pad check gauge (1) which is to be used for the corresponding measurement.

Information for measuring tire tread depth:

Component Identification:

Before each measurement, move the slide (2) so that it touches the driver (3) otherwise the measurement may be incorrect.

Mount the brake pad check gauge (1) on two tread blocks at the point of maximum tire wear.

Push the feeler gauge (4) into the tread groove until it touches the groove bottom.

The measuring drift (4) must not contact the wear marking.

Remove brake pad check gauge (1) for reading off the measured value.
