GF27.60-P-2000SKB Gear Shift, Function

GF27.60-P-2000SKB Gear shift, function
- Transmission 722.6
- with CODE (428) Steering wheel shift buttons

On transmission 722.6 the electric controller unit (Y3/6) converts the electrical signals coming from the electronic transmission control (EGS) into hydraulic signals.

Any problems that occur are covered for by the limp-home system. This is designed to allow the driver to reach a service outlet even under extreme conditions.

The selector lever positions "P", "R", "N" and "D" are filed by the electronic selector lever module control unit (N15/5) on the Controller Area Network bus Class C (engine compartment) (CAN-C) and also forwarded mechanically by shift rod to the selection range switch at the transmission end.

Program selection "C/S"
The following functions can be actuated using the selector lever, left steering wheel gear shifter (S110/2) and right steering wheel gear shifter (S111/2) (up to 31.5.06) or the steering wheel gear shifter MINUS (S110/1) and the steering wheel gear shifter PLUS (S111/1) (as of 1.6.06):
^ Preselection of shift range, up to which the transmission performs upshifts
^ Direct change to drive position "D"
^ Change into a gear from which the vehicle can be favorably accelerated or decelerated

Program selection "M"
The 5 forward gears can be shifted directly using the selector lever or the left steering wheel gear shifter (S110/2) and right steering wheel gear shifter (S111/2) (up to 31.5.06) or the steering wheel gear shifter MINUS (S110/1) and steering wheel gear shifter PLUS (S111/1) (as of 1.6.06).

The shifted gear is displayed in the instrument cluster (A1). The transmission automatically changes into the sport program "S" when the selector lever is shifted out of selector lever position "D". Gear shifts which would result in an impermissible high or low engine speeds are not executed.

In addition a mandatory downshift occurs at too low an engine speed or a mandatory upshift occurs at too high an engine speed. When the vehicle is stationary the transmission automatically shifts into 1st gear. It is possible to start off both in 1st or 2nd gear. Drive positions "R", "P" and "N" can only be shifted to using the selector lever.

The manual shift program "M" is not stored. After restarting the engine a change is made to the sport program "S", and it is indicated in the instrument cluster (A1).
