GF27.60-P-5100-04NK Center shifter console, function
- Transmission 722.9

The selector lever is moved and positioned in the shift gate, which is not visible to the driver. All the selector lever positions are detected by the electronic selector lever module control unit (N15/5), coded and transmitted to the fully integrated transmission control (VGS) control unit (Y3/8n4) via the Controller Area Network bus class C (engine compartment) (CAN C).

In parallel to being transferred via CAN C, selector lever positions "P", "R", "N" und "D" are passed on to the range selector lever at the transmission end mechanically by means of a shift rod. The shift ranges "1", "2", "3", "4", "5" and "6", up to those which the fully integrated transmission control (VGS) permits an upshift of the automatic transmission (AG), can be shifted via a sideways movement of the selector lever in selector lever position "D" (touch shift).
