AR27.51-P-7229-01W Measure and Adjust Clearance in Multidisk Brake BR

Before the clearance measurement the disks must be immersed in automatic transmission fluid for at least one hour so that the friction lining can swell up.

1 Using a feeler gauge determine the clearance at three points between the circlip (133a) and externally toothed plate (133c).
For the measuring process the circlip (133a) must abut the upper contact surface of the groove in the external plate carrier.
2 Remove circlip (133a) and determine its thickness.
3 Adjust clearance; to do this, install circlip (133a) of appropriate thickness.
The circlips (133a) are available as a replacement part with a thickness of 3.2 to 4.7 mm. The graduation is 0.3 mm.
