Component Identification:

1 Carefully clean the ring gear bore as well as the ring gear seat on the differential case.
2 Heat ring gear (47a) to installation temperature using heating plate (080). Check temperature constantly using remote thermometer (070).

Component Identification:

3 Using assembly mandrel (046), clamp differential case in vise.
4 Put on suitable heat protection gloves, mount ring gear (47a) on the differential case and apply some light hammer blows (rubber-headed hammer) if necessary.

Pay attention to any markings (arrow) applied to the ring gear (47a) and differential case.

Component Identification:

5 Tighten ribbed retaining bolts (13a) for securing the ring gear (47a) evenly and in a cross pattern.

Safety bolts with ribs (13a) must always be replaced after being used once.
