Component Identification:

Pulling out
1 Using a suitable tool (e.g. screwdriver, assembly lever) pull rear axle shaft (37) out of the rear axle center assembly.

When pulling out the rear axle shaft (37), do not damage the radial sealing ring in the rear axle center assembly. Rear axle shafts (37) with defective joints or boots must be replaced.

Component Identification:

Pressing in
2 Press rear axle shaft into the rear axle center assembly until the circlip (37g) latches noticeably.

Position joint ring horizontally so that the splined profile is not tilted when inserted.

When pressing the rear axle shaft into the rear axle center assembly, do not damage the radial sealing ring. The joint ring must close flush with the rear axle housing.
