AR54.21-P-1259Q Remove/Install SAM Control Unit with Fuse and Relay Box, Rear







DANGER!
Risk of explosion from explosive gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury through burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries
- No fire, sparks, naked flames or smoking.
- Wear protective gloves, acid-resistant clothing and safety glasses. Pour battery electrolyte only into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

1 Disconnect ground cable of battery
2 Remove paneling on left side in trunk
3 Unscrew bolt (1)
4 Unlock and remove rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2)

NOTE:
- Do not damage the retaining lugs (arrows).
- Unlock by tilting through 90° towards the spare wheel recess.

5 Release and remove connectors

NOTE: Mark connectors.

Refer to Disconnecting cables from control modules and fuse and relay boxes.

6 Unplug fuses
Fuse assignment as-built configuration
7 Unplug relays
Relay assignment, production details
8 Install in the reverse order
9 Perform basic programming
10 Read diagnostic trouble code memory and erase
11 Check for proper function
