Malfunctions of Various Control Units and/or On-Board Power Supply Problems
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of electrical malfunctions, the cause could be water entering the control unit tray under the driver/front passenger seat. The condensation water hoses from the AC housing can either be dislocated or pinched off resulting in water entering the interior.
Affected control modules may include the Central Gateway (CGW), Front Signal Acquisition and Actuation Module (SAM front) and/or the Sound Amplifier and Adaptive Damping System (ADS). Problems with the on-board power supply voltage may also occur. To resolve, perform the respective procedure below.
Dislocated Hose
1. If either of the right or left condensation water hoses is dislocated, re-install completely on the outlet fitting of the AC housing. Do not use any lubrication to install hose. Pull on the hose gently to check that it is secure. Wire tie fasteners can be used to hold hose in place. (Figure 1).
2. Repair any water damaged parts as necessary.
Pinched Hose
1. Set both sides of the climate control to maximum cooling.
2. From the bottom of the vehicle, check to see if water is flowing out of the condensation water drains.
3. If no water is flowing, inspect hoses for being pinched.
4. Correct pinching by repositioning the hose or replace the hose if it is damaged.
5. Repair any water damaged parts as necessary.
