1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Drain cooling system.
3. Remove air cleaner assembly.
4. Disconnect accelerator cable.
5. Label, then disconnect vacuum hoses and electrical connectors as required.
6. Remove dipstick.
7. Disconnect heat tube at EGR valve.
8. Disconnect fuel line at fuel rail.
9. Remove dipstick tube attaching bolt.
10. Remove PCV valve from intake manifold.
11. Remove distributor attaching bolts.
12. Remove intake manifold attaching bolts, then the intake manifold.
13. Reverse procedure to install. Torque intake manifold bolts in sequence shown in Fig. 5. Torque bolts in two steps first to 11---12.5 ft. lbs., then to 14---21 ft. lbs.
