This article is being republished in its entirety to include an illustration showing the location of the connector.

ISSUE: An erratic engine idle, hesitation or malfunctioning upshift indicator lamp may be caused by an incorrect signal from the HEGO sensor. This can happen when the 14B060 and 12A522 wire assemblies get wet.

ACTION: Install a new wire harness connector on Circuit # 94 as shown in Figure 1. Refer to Figure 2 and the following procedure for service details and the location of the connector.

1. Remove circuit # 94 (DG-P) from the connector as shown in Figure 1.

2. Reinstall circuit # 94 into a new connector. Use the existing terminals.

3. Insert the male terminal of the 12A522 wire assembly into the female connector (E7DZ-14489-N).

4. Insert the female terminal of the 14B060 wire assembly into the male connector (E7DZ-14489-L).

5. Slide the connector together.

6. Seal the cavity on the original connector with silicone sealer (D6AZ-19562-BA).
