NOTE: Approved as of 3 June 97. Subject to fittings, labeling, no drop-in, and compressor shutoff switch use conditions. Although some blends contain hydrocarbons, all blends that have ASU status are nonflammable as blended.

NON-APPROVED ALTERNATIVES (UNA STATUS)

NOTE: UNA status implies the alternative blend is unacceptable and illegal for use as a R-12 substitute in motor vehicle air conditioners.

OZ-12, HC-12a, Duracool 12a: Flammable blend of hydrocarbons, insufficient data to demonstrate safety.

R-176: Contains R-12, which is inappropriate as a R-12 substitute.

R-405a: Contains Perfluorocarbon component (extremely high global warming potential).
