System Pressure Readings

PRESSURE GAUGE INDICATIONS
Due to the different types of models and systems the typical pressure gauge indications shown in this section should be used as a guide only. Refer to "Diagnosis and Testing Procedures", "System Diagnosis and Performance Test" for the particular model being tested. When indications other than normal are encountered, these typical indication charts will assist in diagnosing the refrigerant system. It should be noted that pressures may vary slightly above or below due to changes in ambient temperature and relative humidity.


Pressure gauge indication:





LOW SIDE: Low
HIGH SIDE: Normal

Pressure gauge indication:





LOW SIDE: Almost at zero
HIGH SIDE: Low

Pressure gauge indication:





LOW SIDE: High
HIGH SIDE: Very high

Pressure gauge indication:





LOW SIDE: About 5 psi
HIGH SIDE: Slightly lower than normal

Pressure gauge indication:





LOW SIDE: High
HIGH SIDE: High

Pressure gauge indication:





LOW SIDE: High
HIGH SIDE: Low

Pressure gauge indication:





LOW SIDE: Zero or less
HIGH SIDE: Higher than normal

Pressure gauge indication:





LOW SIDE: Very high
HIGH SIDE: Slightly higher than normal

Pressure gauge indication:





LOW SIDE: About 5 psi
HIGH SIDE: Very high

Pressure gauge indication:





LOW SIDE: Zero
HIGH SIDE: Very low, about 85 psi

Pressure gauge indication:





LOW SIDE AND HIGH SIDE: Slightly higher than normal
