Fuel Delivery and Air Induction: Service and Repair

1. Ensure that vent screw is closed and that power is available to fuel shut-off solenoid.
2. Turn ignition ``On'' and allow pump to operate for approximately two minutes, then start engine. If engine runs correctly, system does require bleeding. If engine does not run correctly, proceed to next step.
3. Loosen coupling nuts on injector nozzles, then crank engine until all air is bled from lines. Use extreme caution not to allow high pressure fuel to contact skin.
4. Start engine. If engine runs correctly, no further bleeding is required. If engine does not run correctly, proceed to next step.
5. Crank engine and bleed system in the following locations:
a. Fuel return line banjo bolt (labeled OUT).
b. Injection pump distributor head plug bolt.
c. Fuel shut-off solenoid.
