To connect the voltmeter onto the self-test connector, refer to Figs. 18 through 21 for self-test connector locations and proceed as follows:

1. Insert one end of jumper wire, Fig. 22, into the No. 4 pin on the self-test connector.

2. Clamp negative lead from the voltmeter onto the other end of jumper wire, Fig. 23.

3. Clamp positive lead from voltmeter onto the positive battery terminal, Fig. 24.

4. Insert one end of the second jumper wire into No. 2 pin on self-test connector, and other end into the self-test input connector, Fig. 25. The final connection also activates the ECA self-test sequence when the ignition switch is turned to the ON position.
