Timing Belt: Testing and Inspection

Fig. 8 Camshaft Timing Marks:

1. Remove timing belt upper cover.
2. Align crankshaft pulley timing notch with TC mark on timing belt cover tab.
3. Camshaft timing marks should be aligned, Fig. 8. If camshaft timing cannot be viewed, rotate crankshaft pulley one revolution, aligning notch with timing cover TC mark.
4. If camshaft timing marks are aligned, the camshaft is properly timed to the crankshaft. If camshaft timing marks are not properly aligned, refer to TIMING BELT.
