Distributor Advance Unit: Service and Repair

Vacuum Advance:





Removal

1. Remove the distributor cap, rotor, and dust cover.

2. Disconnect the two vacuum hoses from the two chamber nipples.

3. Remove the C-clip while securing the vacuum advance link to the stator plate.

4. Remove two screws attaching the vacuum advance to the distributor housing. Unhook the link and remove the vacuum advance.

Installation

1. Position the vacuum advance housing on the distributor housing, installing the link with the pin on the stator plate.

2. Secure the vacuum advance to the distributor housing with two mounting screws.

3. Install the vacuum link C-clip on the stator plate pin.

4. Connect the vacuum hose from the carburetor spark port to the lower chamber nipple on the vacuum advance. Connect the manifold vacuum hose to the upper chamber.

5. Install dust cover, rotor, and distributor cap.
