Intake Manifold: Service and Repair

On 1994 models equipped with airbags, disable airbag system prior to performing service operation as possible airbag deployment may cause personal injury.


1. Relieve fuel system pressure.
2. Disconnect battery ground cable and drain coolant system.
3. Remove air intake tube.
4. Disconnect fuel injector harness from EEC-IV harness.
5. Disconnect crankshaft position sensor.
6. Disconnect fuel supply and return lines.
7. Disconnect camshaft position sensor.
8. Remove throttle and kick down cables from throttle lever.
9. Remove throttle cable bracket.
10. Remove power brake vacuum supply and PCV hoses.
11. Remove vacuum hose from bottom of throttle body.
12. Remove nuts from intake manifold.
13. Remove intake manifold from vehicle.
14. Reverse procedure to install.
