Removal and Replacement

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the floor console assembly and console side panels.
3. Remove the Electronic Engine Control (EEC-IV) harness connector from the Electronic Control Assembly (ECA).

Engine Control Assembly Replacement:





4. Remove the power and fuel pump relays from the ECA bracket.
5. Remove the plastic duct and pad from the top of the ECA bracket.

6. Remove the three ECA bracket attaching bolts and loosen the retaining nut.
7. Remove the ECA and bracket assembly from the floor tunnel.

Engine Control Assembly Replacement:





8. Slide the ECA from the bracket.
9. Install the ECA into the bracket.
10. Install the ECA and bracket assembly on the vehicle floor tunnel, then install the retaining hardware.
11. Install the plastic duct and pad on top of the ECA bracket.
12. Install the power and fuel pump relays on the bracket.
13. Connect the EEC-IV harness to the ECA.
14. Install floor console side panels and floor console assembly.
15. Connect the negative battery cable.
